FastingPhases.com is a free educational resource. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what we don't do with it. We've tried to write this in plain English instead of legalese.

The short version: We don't require accounts, don't ask for your email, don't track you across the internet, and don't sell any data. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage and Google AdSense to display ads. That's it.

What we collect

When you visit FastingPhases.com, our hosting infrastructure and third-party services automatically collect standard web analytics data:

Your IP address (anonymized by Google Analytics before we see it)
Your approximate geographic location (country/region level)
The device and browser you're using
Which pages you visit on our site and how long you stay
The site that referred you to us, if any

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information, because we never ask for any.

Data you store on your own device

The site may use your browser's local storage (localStorage) to remember your last-entered fasting hours between sessions, so you don't have to re-enter them. This information never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to us or anyone else. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.

Third-party services we use

Google Analytics 4. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate — which pages are popular, where visitors come from, how long they stay. This helps us improve content. Google Analytics uses cookies and IP-address-based identifiers. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics site-wide with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Google AdSense. We display ads via Google AdSense to keep the site free. AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your interests and previous visits to this or other websites. Google uses advertising cookies to personalize ads for users. Google Fonts. We load Outfit and DM Sans from Google Fonts CDN. Google may log font-loading requests per their privacy policy.

Amazon CloudFront. The site is hosted on Amazon S3 and delivered via CloudFront. AWS may log access requests for security and billing purposes per their privacy notice.

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party beyond the analytics and advertising services named above.
We do not require user accounts, email addresses, phone numbers, or any form of registration.
We do not operate affiliate links or receive referral commissions from any product mentioned on the site.
We do not send marketing emails because we don't have your email.
We do not use retargeting ads tied to individual users beyond what AdSense may do (which you can opt out of via the link above).

Cookies

The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics and Google AdSense as described above. They are not set by FastingPhases.com directly. Your browser's cookie controls will work normally. Blocking cookies may prevent ads from being served correctly but will not prevent the fasting calculator from working.

Children

FastingPhases.com is intended for adult use. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Extended fasting is not appropriate for children or adolescents, and the site is not designed for them.

Not medical advice

The information on FastingPhases.com is for educational purposes only. It is not medical advice, nutritional advice, or a substitute for consultation with a licensed healthcare provider. Fasting is not appropriate for everyone — particularly those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or have a history of eating disorders or metabolic conditions. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any fasting protocol.

Your rights

Because we don't collect personally identifying information, there's typically nothing to request, correct, or delete on our end. For data held by Google Analytics or Google AdSense about your browser, contact Google directly via the opt-out links above.

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively. To exercise them regarding any information held by Google services on our behalf, use Google's tools directly.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change what data we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. Minor clarifications may be made without notice.
